# LinkedIn revenue attribution review

Use this worksheet to decide whether a report is ready to interpret and to record exactly what its revenue figure means. Fill it from your account and CRM. Leave missing evidence as Unknown. A connected account alone does not establish that the figures reconcile.

## 1. Identify the report

| Field | Your evidence |
| --- | --- |
| Review owner and date | Unknown |
| Business Manager and ad-account scope | Unknown |
| CRM: Salesforce, Dynamics 365, HubSpot, or another system | Unknown |
| Intended connection route and route-specific edition/seat requirements | Unknown |
| CRM installer permissions and required object/API access | Unknown |
| Owned versus shared ad accounts | Unknown |
| Approval and scope for sharing CRM data with account users | Unknown |
| Surface: Business Manager Revenue Attribution Report or Campaign Manager Pipeline view | Unknown |
| Business Manager administrator and CRM connection owner | Unknown |
| Connection state observed in account, with observation time | Unknown |
| Report generation or last refresh evidence | Unknown |

LinkedIn documents Salesforce, Dynamics 365 and HubSpot as supported CRM connections. Follow the specific connection instructions for your CRM; do not treat the name of your CRM as proof that your account has the required access. If a required field above is unresolved, mark readiness Unknown or Hold and assign an owner. Assigning an owner does not clear the issue: call it ready only after the required evidence is resolved. Verify HubSpot requirements for the chosen connection route; a combined Sales Navigator setup article does not establish universal direct Business Manager eligibility.

For the readiness CSV, use verified, unknown, or blocked in the status column. Verified requires current evidence for that check; a connection label verifies only the observed connection state. Use unknown for missing evidence and blocked for a known failed requirement. These row statuses do not automatically decide overall readiness.

## 2. Freeze the comparison

Record the report date range, ad accounts, campaign or ad-set filters, currency, attribution model, lookback window and member/company scope as shown in the account. Save a screenshot or export with the capture time. Do not copy a control from one surface into another where it is unavailable.

| Setting | Baseline | Comparison | Changed intentionally? |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Report surface | Unknown | Unknown | Unknown |
| Date range | Unknown | Unknown | Unknown |
| Ad accounts and campaign/ad-set filters | Unknown | Unknown | Unknown |
| Currency | Unknown | Unknown | Unknown |
| Attribution model and touch threshold | Unknown | Unknown | Unknown |
| Lookback window | Unknown | Unknown | Unknown |
| Member/company attribution scope | Unknown | Unknown | Unknown |
| Capture time and refresh evidence | Unknown | Unknown | Unknown |
| Underlying CRM snapshot/version | Unknown | Unknown | Unknown |

Change one attribution setting at a time when testing sensitivity and hold the underlying CRM snapshot fixed. If records refreshed between captures, record that confound and hold the sensitivity conclusion. A different number after changing both the date range and model cannot isolate the effect of the model.

## 3. Reconcile opportunities

Business Manager offers opportunity and company report exports. LinkedIn says the Campaign Manager Pipeline metrics view cannot be exported. Record which surface supplied your evidence instead of promising an unavailable download.

For each sampled opportunity record its stable CRM ID, open/closed state, won/lost state, amount, currency, created date, close date, associated company/contact, report inclusion and unresolved differences. Use the CRM-specific field definitions linked below. Preserve IDs privately; shared summaries can use aliases.

| Opportunity alias | CRM state and amount | Report inclusion and amount | Difference | Owner / next check |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Unknown | Unknown | Unknown | Unknown | Unknown |

Choose samples that include an open opportunity, a closed-won opportunity and an excluded or disputed opportunity when available. Do not invent a missing example. A sample does not prove the entire report is correct; record its coverage.

## 4. Write the conclusion

- Setup readiness: Ready / Hold / Unknown. Evidence:
- Interpretation readiness: Ready within stated scope / Hold / Unknown. Evidence:
- Influenced closed-won revenue, currency and report scope:
- LinkedIn spend, its source/currency/account-period scope, and evidence that these match the won-revenue numerator:
- Platform-reported ROAS, as observed:
- Recalculated revenue/spend ratio, if both matched inputs are available:
- Difference between reported and recalculated ratios, with next check:
- Influenced open pipeline, kept separate from won revenue:
- Unresolved opportunity or timing differences:
- What changes when the attribution setting changes:
- What this evidence supports:
- What requires another test:
- Next action, owner and review date:

Revenue won divided by LinkedIn spend is the documented ROAS calculation. Missing spend means Unknown; zero spend does not produce a finite ratio. Pipeline is not won revenue. Describe the result as influenced revenue under the recorded settings. These observations alone do not establish that advertising caused incremental revenue, and other channels may claim the same opportunity.

## Worked interpretation — fictional inputs

A reviewer supplies $60,000 influenced closed-won revenue and $12,000 LinkedIn spend for one recorded scope. The ratio is 5.0. The report also lists $90,000 open pipeline; keep that separate rather than reporting $150,000 revenue. A second capture using a stricter influence setting shows $36,000 won revenue with the same spend, the same underlying CRM snapshot, and all other recorded settings unchanged: 3.0. That difference shows sensitivity to the selected influence rule, not a loss of $24,000 actual CRM revenue or proof that either rule measures incremental return. If the second capture has a different date range, hold that interpretation until the scopes match.
